Protecting our Marine Environment 1 x Lionfish at a time!!

Lionfish: These fish are an invasive species in the Caribbean and happen to also be delicious! As they have no natural predators here they are quickly over populating and their voracious appetite means they are causing allot of damage. As well as teaching Freediving I also lead spearfishing tours around the island and Lionfish is one of the species we target. Check out these photos I got from yesterday’s tour! One of them was huge! He could have fit all the other ones inside him haha If you want to learn how to spearfish hit me up! I’ll teach you everything you need to know from the start.
Lionfish facts- With venomous spines, lionfish have few natural predators in their native habitat, and no native predators in the Atlantic and Caribbean region. Lionfish are also voracious hunters, known to consume more than 50 other species of fish in the region.
